ABS takes on cyber safety

Shipowners and operators working to defend against cyber attacks can improve their vessel's risk profile through a new certification offered by ABS. The classification society, based in Houston, Texas, in February issued its first notation under its cyber safety scheme aimed at protecting marine assets against computer hacking and other cyber-related security breaches.
