Safety in difficult times

Leicester Racecourse became a seat of learning on 25 November, as more than 40 delegates met to discuss 'Safety in difficult times' at an event hosted by the IOSH Education Group.rnNetworking was at the heart of the day, with plenty of interaction. Question-panel sessions gave delegates a chance to find out more from each of the speakers, with any further queries written down to be addressed later on.rnDavid Garioch, of the London Borough of Sutton, stressed the need for children to learn to deal with risk. He told delegates how the council is helping schools to help themselves with a programme that includes auditing, guidance, support and training using the IOSH Managing safely course.
