How did I get here?

How did you get into health and safety? I would love to say that the relative position of the moon and stars when I was born meant I was destined from birth to become a health and safety practitioner, but that would be an unequivocal fib! I got here through a heady mixture of coincidence and the inspiration of others. What qualifications do you hold? As well as the NEBOSH General Certificate, I also hold several complementary qualifications in quality and the environment. I am also an ISO lead auditor and CIEH professional trainer. If I listed the myriad colourful certificates and credit card-sized paraphernalia that bulks out my wallet this column would end up looking like a job application!
