As part of its Group-wide 'Serious about safety' campaign to increase employee awareness and involvement in health and safety the warehouse site of Magnet Croup in Darlington and Darlington College went into partnership to identify skills gaps among employees and promote appropriate training and development. Nationally recognised awards were implemented in the form of NVQs initially into warehousing areas of Nobia, with the aim that employees would not just achieve the award but also increase their knowledge in other areas above the award's requirements.
