If you see it, you own it

In May's edition of Mailshot, Alison Rodgers expressed her desire for us all to adopt a 'don't walk by' attitude in relation to the observation of health and safety wrongdoing. This is something with which I wholeheartedly agree, and try to follow the mantra one of my colleagues and good friends uses: "If you see it, you own it." I took the photo above late last year, and felt at the time that I had no place to intervene directly in the situation. On reflection, perhaps I should have done so-nevertheless, while I had no legal duty of care, as I was not working on the site, morally, I felt that something should be done.
