Your background is in chemical engineering. How did you make the transition to health and safety? Although my degree is in chemical engineering, I actually started my career as a process engineer, with a focus on safety in design and operations, before moving into project management. So in that sense, safety has always been a central tenet to my work. This probably made it easier for me to move back into safety when I joined BP. I think having that background in the technical aspects of safety gives me an advantage in my current role in safety planning.
