Maintaining standards

In the interface section of the September 2013 issue, I read with interest that India's advanced diploma in industrial safety will meet the requirements of the Institution's Grad. IOSH category (page 28). I am absolutely sure that this diploma is of a reputable standard. However, with the ever expanding membership of IOSH stretching across the globe, how will IOSH ensure that the diplomas issued will be verifiable as legitimate, and not purchased through a third party? In the same issue, the products and services (page 56) noted that there has been a 400 per cent increase in five years of workers in India taking NEBOSH exams. The rise is to be applauded, but we must be on our guard.
