Occupational water safety

I am writing on behalf of the Royal Lifesaving Society UK - the UK's drowning prevention charity, to commend Alan Plom's excellent article in the March issue of SHP entitled Still Waters Run Deep. The Royal Lifesaving Society UK is committed to improving standards of occupational water safety. We believe that something of a blind spot exists around the safety of people who work near, on or in water. In addition to the fatalities cited in Alan's article, we now have the prosecution of Cotswolds Country Park and the very recent, tragic drowning of Ollie Floyd working at the Celtic Manor Golf Course.
