SUMMARY REPORT OF THE WORLD CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE (Moscow, October 2003)

The World Climate Change Conference was held in Moscow from 29 September to 3 October 2003. Over 2200 participants from 86 countries attended this international scientific conference. A total of 51 plenary, 144 section, and 273 poster presentations were presented at the conference. The conference allowed a large number of scientists to interact with representatives of governments, business, and social (non-governmental and international) organizations. The goal of the conference was a comprehensive discussion of the climate change problem, including understanding the role of natural and anthropogenic factors driving the climate; approaches to reducing anthropogenic emissions; impacts and measures of adaptation to on-going climate changes; and hence, achievement of maximum mutual understanding between scientists, governments, business circles and the public.
