摘要

A radar model of two-layer precipitation particles is proposed for the study of volumetric radar characteristics, the scattering indicatrix, and polarizing and depolarizing processes in clouds on the basis of exact diffraction Mie formulas. A numerical study of microradiowave dispersion by spectra of dry and water-coated hailstones is carried out, and analysis of the results is performed. It is shown that the water film on hailstones essentially influences optical characteristics of microradiowave dispersion by a hail spectrum.
