Features of the atmospheric processes over the Far Eastern seas in different seasons of 2001-2003 are analyzed. It is shown that winter centers of action of the atmosphere (Siberian high and Aleutian depression) were gradually decreasing during cold seasons and the depression moved south and west of the long-term position. The intensity of the winter monsoon over Japan, Okhotsk, and Bering seas weakened, and the climatic regime became warmer (particularly in the Bering Sea in 2003). In summer, there was an increase in the intensity of the monsoon. It is suggested that a similar character of the processes can be indicative of a climatic heat wave whose maximum may occur in 2003-2005.
