摘要

On switching from thermoplastic to Resin Rich (RR) thermoreactive insulation, the classical compact frontal layout of the rods must be replaced by a more spacious configuration with minimum deformation, without damage to the insulation. In the new configuration, the axial overhang of the facial sections and the whole end zone of the stator is increased. In fact, a paradox is encountered: the global gain in terms of reduced transverse dimensions of the axial stator zone due to the thinner RR insulation is partially lost on account of the increase in longitudinal stator dimensions. To eliminate this problem, a nondamaging method of stator-winding assembly is developed, permitting the restoration of a compact layout but with thermoreactive insulation.
