This section covers a number of light helicopters for which we do not produce separate reports. Any production forecasts involving the following rotorcraft are included in the Supplemental Programs report for light rotorcraft, the Consolidated Production Statistics appendix, and the relevant market analyses. Guimbal Cabri G2. The two-seat Cabri G2 piston-powered helicopter is produced by the French company Helicopteres Guimbal, which was established in 2000 by Bruno Guimbal, a former Eurocopter engineer. Some years earlier, while still at Eurocopter, Guimbal began the Cabri project on his own, though he did receive some support from his employer. The initial example of the Cabri made its first flight in April 1992. The design was later substantially reworked into the present Cabri G2. The G2 certification prototype flew for the first time in March 2005. European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification was received in December 2007. Deliveries of the helicopter began in 2008. Approximately 287 G2s had been produced by the end of 2020. Many of these were purchased by customers for use in flight training. The G2 was awarded U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in January 2015. The G2 has a maximum gross weight of 700 kilograms (1,540 pounds). The helicopter is powered by a 145-hp Lycoming O-360 piston engine. It has a range of 380 nautical miles. Cruise speed is 100 knots.
