Reserve CO Backs U.S. Army Restructuring

The commander of the U.S. Army Reserve agrees with the Army's controversial plan to transfer all AH-64 gunships to that service's active component, saying utility helicopters are better suited to the National Guard's domestic mission. The Aviation Restructure Initiative would take all of the guard's 192 Apaches and transfer them to active service combat aviation brigades in return for existing Black Hawks numbering 111.The active component would also cut three of its 13 combat aviation brigades.
