摘要

A comparative study regarding chemical composition (major elements) of two different types of furnace slag: the blast-furnace and the electric converter ones are presented and discussed. At the same time, by means of an inter-comparison performed on five reference iron samples, we have tried to establish which one of two concurrent methods currently used: optical emission spectroscopy (S-OES) and wave dispersion x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (WDXRF) gave better results. An AN0VA test showed practically no differences between these methods, while a graphic analysis performed by means of ternary diagrams and principal component analysis evidenced significant differences between the two types of slag analysed.
