The DVLA started to issue digital tachograph cards to both drivers and companies in July 2005.rnThe cards expire after five years, which means the microchip will stop recording driver activity, preventing the operators from managing data in the vehicle unit.rnHolders will get a reminder when their card needs renewing. Please treat it as urgent as you must apply at least 15 working days before the expiry date.
