Culina driver named Driver of the Year

The Microlise Driver of the Year awards ceremony held in May saw Giorgio Lercara from Culina named Microlise Driver of the Year. Lercara also won a specific distance award for short-distance driving. Ian Cupples of John Mitchell Haulage took the short-distance award, and Kevin McLeod the award for long distance. In a new category, the Driver Excellence Award was won by John Mitchell Haulage of Grangemouth for having the highest proportion of its drivers in the top 1,000 based on telematics data analysis. The awards were based on data analysis independently reviewed by a judging panel including RHA CEO Richard Burnett, former MAN Truck & Bus CEO Des Evans and Microlise executive director Bob Harbey. Nominations for the Driver of the Year Awards 2017 are due to open in January.
