Wreford's says farewell to fourth generation Chapman driver

A Wreford's Transport tradition came to an end this year, when driver Brian Chapman, the last of four generations of his family to work for the firm retired after 39 years' service. There has been a Chapman working at Wrefords since the Northants company bought its first motor vehicle in 1919. Brian's grandfather, father, and uncle have all been employees. Brian said of his time with the firm, "It has always been a friendly happy place to work. We had some good drivers here, good friends, still friends. The office was always fair to you. If you had a problem, you could go to them - have your day off - they'd get you back from anywhere.
