Robert Brooks has seen it all in his 60 years of operating heavy equipment to perform site preparation, road construction and commercial construction projects. With ever-increasing fuel costs, he began looking for ways to reduce the pain at the pump. "I know how much fuel costs can eat into the bottom line, both in terms of operating the machinery at the jobsite and also in transporting machinery between jobsites," explained Brooks. In an effort to streamline his fleet and reduce fuel costs, Brooks downsized from a 12-ton machine with a bucket-and-thumb combination to a 7-ton machine equipped with Helac's PowerGrip Multi-Purpose Jaw Bucket. Brooks was impressed at what he quickly discovered. "[The bucket] allowed me to maintain my level of productivity after slashing my machine size in half."
