U.S. DOT gives $1M to fix roads

The federal government made $1 million available in December to both Washington and Oregon to help cover the cost of repairing flood-damaged roads. "Roads may be up and running, but it's clear the damage and recovery efforts will be tough and the costs will be high. Fixing these drowned roads shouldn't be held up in a flood of red tape," U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters said.
