PB's Highway Construction Cost Index (PB HCCI) decreased approximately 1.3 index points, or 0.8%, in the month of April 2011 (compared with March 2011). In the month, steel increased 2.2% while asphalt decreased 3.9%. Machinery and equipment and concrete had decreases of less than 0.5%. Year-to-date the index has grown 3.4% and is 0.2% lower than the April 2010 value.
