The paper deals with the impact of transport on air pollution, along with the influence of meteorological factors. This study found a strong positive relationship between traffic and air pollution. Mathematical models are developed for CO (carbon monoxide) and NO_2 (nitrogen dioxide) with traffic. It is evident that there is a correlation between end-of-the-day's pollutant concentrations and traffic into the same area. Similarly there is a relationship between the pollutant concentration and the direction and speed of the wind and their cross-products. Traffic has a significant impact on air pollution (CO and NO_2) along with wind direction and speed at any particular time of a day. Although daily traffic data was used in conjunction with hourly pollution and meteorological data, the build-up of pollutants to 6p.m. is clearly evident.
