The Partial Healing (PH) model describes the evolution of the complex modulus in a fatigue test. The model is based on the assumption that the fatigue damage can be related to the dissipated energy per cycle. Distinction is made to irreversible (permanent) and reversible fatigue damage. The last type of damage will eventually vanish after an infinity rest period with no loading. This phenomenon is called healing. In this note the mathematical expressions are given how, based on test results obtained in continuous fatigue tests, the evolution of the complex modulus in discontinuous fatigue tests can be predicted.
