It's hard to identify a single trend running through this year's new or nearly new riflescope models. Illuminated reticle offerings continue to grow, and so does the number of scopes employing 30mm tubes—not exactly challenging the dominance of one-inch tubes here in the U.S. but becoming increasingly more common just the same.rnOne definite new category has arisen, and that's the laser rangefinding riflescope. Right now there are three companies producing them—Nikon, Zeiss and Burris—and the units are pretty large (and not exactly cheap), but as the technology improves, I think you can expect to see the size (and price) come down as more firms jump into the category.
