The RIBA is calling for entries to this year's President's Awards for Research. Both university and practice-based research is eligible, but it must be characterised by 'originality, significance and rigour'. Research must also represent a contribution to architectural knowledge. There are few restrictions to the subject matter that can be submitted for an award, although the institute stresses that entries must be for completed projects rather than life-time achievements of individuals or practices. The RIBA is keen to encourage and recognise excellence in research undertaken in architectural practice. Work in any area of architecture, including the design or aspects of the design of a building, will be considered.
