Who is Baroness Kay Andrews?

In July Baroness Kay Andrews OBE will be the first female chair of English Heritage, following Sandy Bruce-Lockhart and Neil Cossons in the post. Her OBE is for services to education, a strand seen through her career as education policy advisorto Neil Kinnock and founder director of charity Education Extra. While at the Department for Communities and Local Government last year she set out the vision on heritage for a conference organised by the Prince's Foundation, demonstrating she was in touch with the people's view of heritage. This included TV show Restoration - which was sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
