Nobody ever said maintaining pioneer modernism in an exposed location was easy or cheap. And so it proves with Mendelsohn and Chermayeff's De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, which is showing signs of decay four years after its Lottery-funded restoration masterminded by John McAslan and Partners.
