In accordance with Regulation 2(3) of the CDM Regulations 2007, except where the project is for a domestic client, it is notifiable if the construction phase is likely to involve more than (a) 30 days; or (b) 500 person days, of construction work'. All projects must comply with Part 2 of the regulations, but if one falls within this definition then Part 3 of the regulations also applies and therefore imposes further duties on the client, the designers and the contractors.
