Sinusoidal Molecular Beam Chopper with an Internally Generated Phase Reference Signal

A molecular beam chopper was developed which produces a periodic beam waveform closely approximating a pure sine wave. The chopper generates a reference signal internally for the purpose of phase lag determinations. Its reliable vacuum characteristics make it ideally suited for clean systems.
