Spurred by rising investor interest, healthy demand and low supplies, the value of scrap copper remains at historically high levels. While pricing is has grown over the past half year, some scrap yard owners say they are struggling to pull in metal due to lousy weather in some parts of the country. Metal industry experts expect the scrap copper market to remain strong. They note that global copper demand in 2011 will likely outstrip the supply of virgin and recovered metal by 500,000 tons.
