Survey results released by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries indicate buyers of recovered fiber have second thoughts when it comes to material from mixed-waste processing operations. Released in early June, ISRI's report on a survey of 41 industry representatives noted more than 75 percent of buyers steer clear of paper from mixed-waste recycling facilities. Of those respondents that do purchase some paper from mixed-waste outlets, 70 percent said the quality was worse than most other recovered paper purchased.
