Dry Scouring of Airbag Fabrics

The dry scouring process of airbag fabrics consists of removal of size, lubricants and other yarn treatments and/or contaminants from the fabric without washing/water. This is a replacement or additional process to the one piece woven / flat woven process (s). Dry scouring is done through the application of a reactive gas. The process may be applied to fabrics to replace the wet scouring process. Alternatively, dry scouring may be done before or after the wet scouring process, as a cleaner and primer process for the coating application and may or may not be with the intent of improved textile performance, improved coating adhesion or processing improvements.
