Snap Sleeve

This disclosure provides a snap feature 1 for sleeve 2, which makes it possible to lock in position. Slots 3 at an end of sleeve 2 allow the sleeve to open slightly, while it is pushed into position on a shaft. The shaft has a ring feature 4 to secure the snap. This design can keep the sleeve in position and prevent it from moving out, while the shaft is under load. The number of slots and detailed design of the snap feature depends on the shaft load This sleeve concept can apply to other housings within concentric componentry by incorporating similar axial or tension retaining features.
