SIMPLIFIED VELOCITY STRING INSTALLATION METHOD

This disclosure describes a method and apparatus for installing a velocity string in a well. In particular, in the context of subsea wells. In general, the pressure of a producing reservoir drops over time. This leads to a reduction or stop in production rate due to liquid accumulation in the well when the flow rate is insufficient to transport liquids to the surface. A known solution to prevent/reduce liquid build-up is to run a tubular with a smaller cross-section than the production tubing into the well. Gas flows faster through this smaller cross-sectional tubular, which helps to urge liquid out from the reservoir to the surface. For this reason, such tubulars are known as "velocity strings".
