In the manufacturing industry, an initial commissioning of a plant and/or machine is carried out in order to put it into an undisturbed and usually uninterrupted production operation for as long as possible. Ideally, the only interruptions are necessary maintenance work to replace individual components that are worn out. The term manufacturing industry covers, for example, production facilities, machine tools, production machinery, production lines, especially for the industries of baggage handling, building materials, cement, chemicals, courier express parcel (CEP), e-commerce, mines, ports and terminals, power plants, fashion, consumer goods/food/beverages, retail. The term plant and/or machinery includes, for example, conveyor systems, loading systems, palletising systems, packaging systems, sorting systems and distribution systems. In the case of a malfunction or fault of a plant/machine, it is important that remote maintenance is possible in order to be able to solve the malfunction quickly. In addition, remote maintenance should be able to be carried out by a local operator with a general technical understanding. In particular, no complex setup or configuration of a remote maintenance system should be necessary. Furthermore, it should be possible for an operator to work interactively with an external specialist in customer service/hotline/remote diagnostic centre. The term local means that the operator has direct access to the plant/machine. The term external means that the external specialist is located in a neighbour room, neighbour building, on another company site, in another city or in another country.
