摘要

A correct installation of the Additional Center Tank (ACT) into the fuselage cargo compartment is an important topic tor safety. Sate operation is ensured by low tolerances, the main concern is proper installation of the ACT to limit possible movement during flight. The following idea can be applied on ACT installation for all programs of Airbus Commercial. The current procedure to install the ACT into the aircraft cargo compartment is to phase the aircraft out of the Final Assembly Line. The installation procedure is very time consuming: The installation of an ACT consists of 2 Steps. 1st Step: Measurement of existing gaps between latches and ACT. 2nd Step: Adjustment by shimming of gaps to fulfill drawing tolerance definitions. Further to the procedure itself is very time consuming and interrupts the assembly flow.
