The following concerns Aircraft Cabin - Lights - Reading Lights / Reading Light adjustment: Reading lights (RL) are comfort items which are associated to each passenger and cabin attendant seat. In many cases, these lights are installed in the "supply channel", which serves for multiple functions. To fulfill the proper illumination of a surface in front of the user, every RL needs to be adjusted individually. Today, individual RL with two-dimensional tilt mechanisms (eye-ball principle) are installed in groups of 1 to 5, depending on the number of seats to be served. Each of these RL requires a mechanical adjustment with the aid of a specific opto-mechanic tool. Although the single action is done quickly, the adjustment of a complete aircraft cabin is a time consuming burden for the production process.
