Method to Reduce False CIB Events Near Rail Road Crossings

The present invention provides a method for suppressing collision braking for LRR only slow moving targets in the vicinity of railroad crossings. Automotive radars lack ability to measure elevation, leading to reporting of "ghost" targets for objects such as rail road tracks and rail road signaling & control devices. By leveraging traffic sign & map information indicating proximity to such locations, CIB feature could be modified to "black list" radar objects unless they are confirmed by a secondary sensor such as LIDAR or Camera.
