The present invention provides a novel method to allow pressure buildup to vent from Electric Vehicle (referred to as EV herein) charging plugs. EV charging plugs carry electrical energy between sources and sinks that have high levels of instantaneous power capability, and can result in a very high short circuit current should a fault condition develop. if the fault condition develops within the charging plug. then high gas pressures can develop. This gas. without an escape path. has been known to cause EV charging plugs to explode from environmental moisture ingress-caused short circuit.
