Ignition coil ridge bolt vibration isolator is a device isolating ignition coils from engine vibration like a typical ignition coil vibration isolator but allows parts to have bigger dimensional tolerance, smaller package size, and lower cost. Invention is in Figure 1 and consists of a bolt 1 which includes bolt ridge 5. Bolt 1 screws into engine 8 (typically cam cover). Bolt ridge 5 clamps down on bottom compression limiter 7 which contacts engine 8. Top isolator 3 and bottom isolator 6 hold coil case 4 onto engine while at same time isolating coil case 4 from engine vibration. Top and bottom isolators typically are made of soft material like rubber or silicon which dampen transmission of vibration. Invention does not have a top compression limiter like typical ignition coil vibration isolators. Figure 2 is a typical ignition coil vibration isolator with top compression limiter 2. Lack of top compression limiter allows benefits of invention because there is 1 less part. Dimensional tolerance is more critical at top then bottom because A) coil case tolerance of position typically is higher at top due to coil case warping after mold process, and B) bolt tolerance of position typically is higher at top due to bolt cantilever effect.
