The elementary reactions: NH (a ~1△) + H_2O(X) → products And NH (a ~1△, v) + H_2O_2(X) → products Were studied in a quasistatic laser photolysis cell at a pressure of 20 mbar in the temperature range 295 ≤ T/K ≤ 523 and at room temperature respectively. NH(a ~1△, v) was produced by excimer laser photolysis of HN_3(X) and detected by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). A variable delay time between photolysis and detec- Tion pulse brought about the time resolution. The NH(a) depletion yielded the following rate constants: K_1 (T) = (3.5 ± 0.8)10~13 (T/295 K)~-(1.5 ± 0.2) cm~3mol s K-2 (v = 0) = (7.5 ± 1.4)10~13 cm~3/mol s K_2 (v = 0) = (7.1 ± 0.9) 10~13 cm~3 /mol s The reaction products of reaction (1) are NH_2(X) + OH(X).
