The British Are Coining: MCI, BT Approve Merger Deal

It's official. The boards of directors of MCI and British Telecom approved a definitive merger between the two companies that will make the new company, Concert, the first global telecommunications company in the world. The new $42 billion company will be headquartered both in London and Washington, D.C., MCI's home base. It will have a transnational customer base and a multinational management team. Shares of the new company will be traded on three stock exchanges globally.
