In view of the further space conquest prospects there is arnneed for creation of up-to-date spacesuits includingrnplanetary ones for activity outside the spacecraft.rnWithin the spacesuit a cosmonaut can be in comfortablernenough conditions owing to its portable life support systemrn(LSS). Designing such a system calls to optimize its massrnand dimensional characteristics. With this purpose arntheoretical analysis was undertaken to study a viability ofrna cryogenic LSS for a planetary spacesuit which hasrnrevealed necessity of an experimental research andrnoptimization of its operational cycle. Efficiency of thernoperation cycle directly depends on functional quality ofrnthe gasificator being a key part of the system.rnFollowing the theoretical analysis the gasificator designrnhas been developed considering specific heat and massrntransfer processes taking place within the heat exchangerrnusing wet gaseous oxygen from the spacesuit ventilatingrncontour as the heating medium.%Накопленный к настоящему времени опыт и перспективы дальнейшего освоения космического пространства дают основания полагать, что в недалеком будущем может возникнуть необходимость выполнения работ вне космического корабля (КК) на поверхности планет с непосредственным участием космонавтов.
