Anyone with musicology and music bibliography experience will know about this magisterial series of research and information guides from Routledge. Over the years, its main emphasis has been on "classical" composers like Mahler, Monteverdi, Byrd, and Sibelius, with moderns like Bernstein and Berg, Messiaen and Cage. In the mix, too, have been guides to Miles Davis (see previous review RR 2018/083), Quincy Jones, jazz and North American fiddle music. For the music theorist, it valuably includes a guide to Heinrich Schenker, the analyst of tones and meters in music, and this is not accidental here because Schenker's analytical methodologies have clearly shaped some of the research entries in this new series contribution by Thomas Robinson.
