For years, we've allowed solar energy, which we enjoy in abundance, to be more or less wasted. Sure, there've been some people who have installed various and sundry solar systems on their residences or businesses. You can see them when you drive through residential neighborhoods-every once in a while you'll see a house with a black, glass-topped enclosure on the roof and mysterious pipes running down the side of the house.
