Q. Everyone is talking about lead-free laws. Can you provide some background?rnA. In late 2006 the State of California passed California Assembly Bill 1953 (AB1953), which required that pipes, fixtures and fittings delivering water for human consumption contain no more than 0.25% lead (weighted average). Products not meeting this new regulation by the implementation deadline of January 1, 2010, could no longer be legally introduced into commerce in the state of California.
