WATER CONSERVATION IS KEY

California's decade-long draught has altered the lives of all its citizens, at least to some degree. But some professions are more closely tied to the availability of water - or lack of it - than others. Firefighters, golf course managers, fruit farmers and plumbers might top the list of folks who've really felt the impact of the long, weary dry spell. For plumbing pros, it hasn't all been negative. In many cases, environmentally-conscious customers have eagerly replaced standard water fixtures and appliances for those that use less water. In addition to conserving our most important natural resource, the investment in high-efficiency products comes full circle. By reducing the amount of water that goes through a home, utility bills fall. And for the installer, water-stingy fixtures, and installing them, are another source of revenue.
