The Peoples' Self-Help Housing Corporation (PSHHC) is a non-profit community development organization celebrating its 40th year of providing quality affordable housing and support services on California's Central Coast. Nationally recognized for its programs leading to self-sufficiency for low-income families, seniors and other special needs groups, it has won numerous state and national awards in the pursuit if its mission, while achieving a notable level of organizational and financial success since its humble beginnings in 1970. PSHHC's service area consists of three coastal California counties-San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura-which consistently rank as among the least affordable housing markets in the nation. With offices in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara and a core staff of just under 30, the organization has completed over 1,100 "sweat equity" single family homes and more than 1,400 permanently affordable rental units to date. PSHHC maintains an ownership stake in and provides asset and property management services for its rental portfolio, which has a value in excess of $150,000,000. In addition to its core housing programs,Mark Wilson is a Certified Public Accountant and a Senior Project Manager for Peoples' Self Help Housing Corporation's rental and commercial real estate operations. He has been with the non-profit since 1991, and was responsible for the startup of its property management division.
