...but Lm's 350/2s Are On-time

London Midland looked set to be able to introduce its new Class 350/2 EMUs into service in time for the winter timetable change with only two of the promised ten being awaited by the first week of December. The first three (350231-233) have been quickly accepted into traffic and were followed by 350235-238 during November and 350239 in the first week of December. 350234 remained in Germany for additional work by builder Siemens. The quick arrival of the units has led to the temporary reopening of Bletchley Depot, which is being used to store vehicles which cannot be accommodated at the new King's Heath Depot. Ten of the 37-strong class were required in time for the December timetable change. The new arrivals will enable London Midland to begin releasing Class 321s on a one-for-one basis. Units displaced are due to go to c2c, National Express East Anglia and First Capital Connect.
