The Coronation Pacifics was an inspired and fairly obvious choice for the first volume in the Irwell Press 'The Book Of series when launched in 1998. That it has subsequently been reprinted in 2000, 2003 and 2006, does indeed speak volumes for the fine job done by career railwayman Allan C Baker and the publishers when it came to telling and showing what there was known about these highly popular locomotives.
